RISE UP LAUNCHES MENTORSHIP AND SUPPORT VILLAGE INITIATIVE
BATON ROUGE, La. – Rise UP Mental Health Sanctuary, Inc. and Trey’s Legacy Education Fund will host their inaugural Mentorship Meet-and-Greet Luncheon on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library – Main Library at Goodwood.
The initiative builds upon the Trey’s Legacy scholarship program, which was launched through the Inaugural Red Tie Scholarship Gala. Scholarship recipients and participating college student volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in mentorship and support services designed to assist them throughout their educational journey.
Rise UP is currently seeking additional Support Village participants, including educators, business owners, wellness professionals, clergy, financial literacy volunteers, internship providers, tutors, and other community members willing to share their expertise and resources with students throughout the year.
“The goal is to connect students with dedicated mentors who can provide guidance, encouragement, and accountability throughout the year,” said Paulette Porter LaBostrie, Founder and Chair of Rise UP Mental Health Sanctuary, Inc. “The Support Village will serve as a resource network available to mentors and program leaders as they work to support student success. The Village is the foundation we hope to build upon to make this program successful.”
